What I Do
A range of professional college counseling services are offered designed to help you navigate throughout the competitive college admissions process by complementing the school guidance program. From college essay assistance and editing, development of a "best fit" college application list, to college interview prep, and many more services to get you the acceptance you are looking for and on the path to post-secondary success.
Why I Do It
I know you can complete your applications on your own. As a college counselor, I also know the various components of the college application can be stressful, complex, and anxiety-inducing for students and their parents. Obtaining my services will give you the peace of mind that applications will be the best representation of the student, the applications are completed correctly and on time, and my understanding of the "ins and outs" of the process that will provide you an advantage in the competitive admissions process.
As a former high school counselor, I know the extraordinary demands on school counselors. The standard caseload for high schools counselors is approximately 250 students for each counselor. Students may need or want extra time and attention that school staff may not have to devote to those needs.

The AMP Approach
Each college-bound individual is unique, so the focus on each client's needs and goals is on a one-on-one basis. What got your friend into Dartmouth College may not be what will work for you. Your older cousin went to Amherst College and you want to do everything he did? You may not get the same results doing exactly the same thing.
A customized, student-centered plan delivers the best chance to get into their dream college using their strengths...with the least amount of stress along the way. I only work with a small number of students every fall, so that each student I work with has my energy and focus on them.

By working closely with students and their families, I pride myself on gaining a better understanding of their goals and expectations while taking some of the stress out of the equation for families.
